CHRIS & MEGAN
JUNE 17, 2017 | HEAVENLY MOUNTAIN | SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA
OUR STORY
We met on match.com way before it was socially acceptable to admit you were online dating. Chris left that first date an hour early after checking his watch claiming that he was late for dinner with friends. Realizing his mistake, he then apologized via text to a different Megan in his phone... *ahem* He eventually figured it out and Megan totally bought the story that he just didn't know how to read his analog watch. She later bought him one with numbers on it.

Seven years and many snowboarding trips to Tahoe later,
Chris finally proposed on Olympic chair at Heavenly Mountain. Megan said "ok."

We are so thrilled to now invite you to one of our favorite places in California. Even without the snow, there is so much to enjoy about Tahoe in the summer and we hope you have the time to explore a bit! A few of our favorite places are listed for you below (or will be soon).

LOGISTICS
TRANSPORTATION
Those of you driving from the Bay Area are likely familiar with the route. For the rest of you, there are four airports serving the Tahoe area with varying driving distances from each:

-
Reno Tahoe International Airport: +/- 1.5 hours
-
Sacramento International Airport: +/- 2 hours
-
Oakland International Airport: +/- 3.5 hours
-
San Francisco International Airport: +/- 4 hours

From Reno you have the option to take the South Tahoe Airporter shuttle. Cost is $30/person one way and $55/person round trip. Drop off points include Heavenly Village and the major casinos.

Depending on your arrival day and time, the traffic to and from San Francisco and Oakland can range from 4 to 5 hours (or more), so plan accordingly. i.e. - avoiding rush hour is a good idea. Also note that leaving Tahoe on Sunday can be slow at best. Give us a call if you need more travel input!

OTHER OPTIONS WE RECOMMEND:
SEVEN SEAS: One block from Basecamp, this is a great budget option. Say hi to owners Bill and Debby for us!

THE MARRIOTT: Also one block away, located at Heavenly Village next to the Gondola, the Marriott is a not-so-budget friendly option with many amenities including child care.

THE LANDING: Three blocks away and overlooking the lake. Another higher-end option.
